How to Watch UFC on ESPN 10
The
Ultimate Fighting Championship has charged two Top 10-ranked
women with pushing its makeshift 2020 schedule forward.
Jessica Eye on Saturday will square off with Cynthia Calvillo in the UFC on ESPN 10 main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, where the promotion set up shop in response to the COVID-19 pandemic while finalizing its plans for Fight Island. Meanwhile, Karl Roberson takes on Marvin Vettori in the three-round co-headliner at a 190-pound catchweight.
Eye has rattled off four wins in five appearances, a brutal
knockout loss to reigning flyweight champion Valentina
Shevchenko the lone outlier. The 33-year-old former Ring of
Combat titleholder last appeared at UFC 245, where she was
awarded a unanimous decision over Viviane
Araujo. However, Eye’s victory was overshadowed by the fact
that she missed weight by five pounds.
Calvillo, 32, trains out of the star-studded American Kickboxing Academy but spent previous training camps at Team Alpha Male and Tiger Muay Thai. The once-beaten Californian last competed at UFC on ESPN 7 in December, when she fought to a majority draw with Marina Rodriguez and missed weight by more than four pounds, necessitating a move to the flyweight division. Calvillo has delivered five of her eight career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
UFC on ESPN 10 “Eye vs. Calvillo”—which airs live on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT—also features a featherweight scrap pairing Andre Fili with Charles Jourdain, a 140-pound catchweight tilt pitting Merab Dvalishvili against Gustavo Lopez and a bantamweight affair matching Jordan Espinosa with Hannah Cifers. ESPN will also provide coverage of the entire five-fight undercard, starting at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
