Adam Borics Is Confident that A.J. McKee Will Defeat Patricio Freire in Their Rematch

There is much on the line for Adam Borics in the Bellator 276 main event. Borics (17-1, 8-1 Bellator) will headline a Bellator MMA card for the first time in his career as he faces Mads Burnell in a much-anticipated 145-pound affair. In his most recent appearance, Borics kept his momentum following a unanimous decision over Jeremy Kennedy at Bellator 256, the Hungarian fighter’s third straight triumph. That time, Borics voiced his desire to be rewarded with a title shot. After A.J. McKee submitted longtime featherweight kingpin Patricio Freire, things took an unexpected turn, but Borics is now only a victory away from getting his chance at the championship. That’s why he will pay attention to the upcoming showdown between McKee and Freire that is supposed to go down at Bellator 277 in April.

“I think it’s going to be the same. A.J. is going to win,” he added. “I would be happy for both of them. A.J. is the future star and “Pitbull” was maybe the biggest star in Bellator. I would face both of them. It’s a big thing for me. I really don’t care, I just want my belt.”

In Borics’ opinion, size will be the most important factor in that clash. Both he and McKee are the exponents of a new generation of fighters, much more physically imposing than some veterans in the game.

“It’s a different generation. I’m a pretty big 145er and A.J. is a pretty big ‘45er. I think the size really matters.”

In the interview, Sanford MMA’s Borics also discussed what makes him unique from other contestants, talked about his long training camp for Burnell, and more.
