MCGLOTHLIN LOOKS TO ADD LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE TO HIS LIST OF V3 AWARDS
Sep 17, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- On September 28, multiple time V3Fights’ award
winner, Eli
McGlothlin, will finally get a shot at the lightweight title
when he takes on champion, Jaleel Willis, in the main event.
McGlothlin has never lost in the V3 cage and has won several awards
such as Fight of the Night, Fight of the Year, and Knockout of the
Night honors. On September 28, he will look to win the most
important award of them all, the V3 lightweight title!
McGlothlin is currently 11-3 and trains out of Barata MMA in Bald Knob, AR. He got started in MMA because of his father, coach, and Arkansas legend, William McGlothlin. His father would come home from training and get excited about everything he had learned at practice and would show his son the moves. Eli was immediately hooked and started attending training sessions on a regular basis with his father and made the one hour drive each way to martial arts class.
McGlothlin knows that he is in for the toughest battle of his
career when he steps in the cage with Willis. When asked about this
fight, here is what McGlothlin had to say: “I respect Jaleel. He
obviously takes this seriously and is considered the best. I want
to fight the best. His team is known to have some of the toughest
fighters around. One of his coaches, Dave
Ferguson, is a top-notch guy that we have known for a while. I
know they will have Jaleel ready and he will bring his A game.
There will be too much talent inside of that octagon for this fight
to be left to the judges. I can’t say what will happen win or lose,
I just know that we are both too good and want to go for the finish
so one of our hands will be raised before three rounds is up. I
know I have put in my fair share of work to deserve this
opportunity.”
McGlothlin’s younger brother, Rudy, will also be fighting on this card. This event will also be available on pay per view at www.gfl.tv
