(PRESS RELEASE) -- KSW superstars will return to Gdańsk/Sopot’s
Ergo Arena. The star-studded fight card will feature seven main
card bouts with two main events as well as two additional undercard
fights. Mixed martial arts fans from all over the world will be
treated with another explosive show from the greatest European
promotion.
It will be the exceptional KSW event as for the first time in history KSW 27 bouts will be held in the new area of fighting – the circular cage, which just like the ring will be the characteristic element of KSW shows.

MamedKhalidov’s fights always electrify the fans and it is safe to say it will not be different this time. The Chechen-born fighter returns to competition after dominant victory over Ryuta Sakurai last December. His upcoming outing will close the May’s show, but the opponent has yet to be named. KSW Federation is already in talks with a few potential rivals for the best middleweight in Europe.
In the second featured bout of the Ergo Arena’s show Mariusz Pudzianowski faces Oli Thompson. After Thomson’s KSW 25 victory over KamilWaluś, “Pudzian” called out the Englishman to be his next opponent. KSW Federation granted him his wish and now these two former strongman competitors will square off against eachother in the cage.
Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Aslambek Saidov defend their titles
May’s KSW 27 in Ergo Arena will feature two championship bouts, with Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Aslambek Saidov defending their precious belts.
In the welterweight title contest, the undefeated in his last nine KSW outings Aslambek Saidov will rematch Borys Mankowski. Both KSW regulars already met in the ring in 2012, when Saidov was awarded a TKO win after Mańkowski suffered a serious ankle injury, which put him on sidelines for a few months.
Women’s championship fight will see the undefeated in professional MMA Karolina Kowalkiewicz square off against Jasminka Cive. The Gracie Barra Łódź fighter was already scheduled to face the Austrian in September, but Cive’s had to withdraw from the announced bout due to injury.
After defeating the champion, now will face each other
First it was Piotr Strus who beat Krzysztof Kułak at KSW 21. Then at KSW 25 Abu Azaitar knocked out the former champion in spectacular fashion. On May 17thStrus and Azaitar will face one another to prove who is the better fighter.
This middleweight fight should be barn-burner as both of these talented warriors prefer to exchange punches and avoid fighting on the ground. MMA fans should expect a dynamic battle with probable finish inside the distance.
