Agon Wrestling Championships To Announce Agon 1 - The Revolution This Weekend In Milwaukee

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Milwaukee, WI -- Agon Wrestling Championships
(AWC) will hold a press conference Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the
Marriott Milwaukee Downtown to announce the main event of Agon 1 -
The Revolution, which will take place at the Rio Hotel and Casino
in Las Vegas, NV on October 27, 2013. The main event will feature
undefeated MMA champion, two time NCAA Champion and former US
Olympian, Ben Askren,
versus two time NCAA champion and four time NCAA All-American
wrestler from Penn State, Quentin Wright.
"So excited to be the main event for @AgonWC," Askren tweeted this week. "So glad I get to help lead the revolution." CF Athletic President, Michael DiSabato, a presenting sponsor for Agon Wrestling Championships and consultant to the organization, will also announce other confirmed competitors for Agon 1, including Ohio State four time All-American and team Alpha Male MMA fighter, Lance Palmer and 3X NCAA Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist, Steven Abas. DiSabato and Agon Wrestling Championships associate director, Ernie Ciaccio, will also be available to answer questions regarding the AWC mission and goals.
In addition to Askren, current MMA stars Daniel
Cormier and Urijah Faber
will be in attendance. "As a former Olympic team captain, I am
encouraged by Agon's efforts not only to keep wrestling alive and
well, but also to provide a place for wrestlers to earn prize money
at the elite level," said Cormier.
