A training injury suffered by Ryan Ford has resulted in the cancellation of his welterweight headliner against Bristol Marunde at WSOF Canada 2.
Instead, a light heavyweight duel pitting David Loiseau against Dwayne Lewis will take top billing on the June 7 card, which takes place at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Promotion officials recently announced the change.
A nine-time UFC veteran, Loiseau will carry a four-fight winning streak into his meeting with Lewis. The Tristar Gym representative last competed in October, stopping Mike Kent in 15 seconds at ECC 18 “Road to Glory” in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Lewis, who was originally expected to face Tim Hague at WSOF Canada 2, has competed primarily for the Maximum Fighting Championship promotion during his 22-bout pro tenure. “D-Bomb” has lost three of his last four fights, most recently falling to Kalib Starnes via second-round TKO at WSOF 7 in December.
