Invicta Fighting Championships on Friday in Kansas City, Kansas, cobbled together a show that lost its main event but still provided some solid action and showcased some great prospects. Invicta 37 featured one of the quickest knockouts in company history, a submission that had only been seen once before in the organization and an unfortunate distinction about fighters missing weight.

MORE ROOM TO GROW: With seven fights on the card -- the lowest of any Invicta event, happening six times previously -- the combined experience for all the fighters coming into this card totaled 78 fights. This is the least for any Invicta show in history.

LATE-BLOOMING FINISHES: Two bouts on the card ended by third-round stoppage, tying several other events for the third-most Round 3 finishes at an event in promotional history. Invicta 4 and Invicta 16 are tied for the most with three apiece.

HYPHEN HEARTBREAK: Both women who came in with hyphenated names -- Brogan Walker-Sanchez and Marisa Messer-Belenchia -- suffered decision defeats. They were the only two fighters to lose on the scorecards at this event.

TAPPING LIKE DANNY KAYE: By hitting a guillotine choke in the third round on Nicolle Caliari, Kay Hansen recorded her third submission in the Invicta cage. This ties her with Amber Brown, Felicia Spencer, Sarah D'Alelio and Tonya Evinger for the second-most submissions in company history. Miranda Maverick holds the most (five).

AND SHE TURNED PRO IN 2017: Hansen won her fifth bout under the Invicta banner, making her the 10th fighter in promotional history to do so.

THAT LEG KICK’S SO HOT RIGHT NOW: Lindsey VanZandt finished Shino VanHoose with a powerful leg kick, earning the second leg kick stoppage in company history. Previously, Kaitlin Young stopped Sarah Patterson with a leg kick and punches at Invicta 32 in November.

AIN’T NO DAMSEL: “Damsel” needed only 39 seconds to finish VanHoose, picking up the fastest knockout in Invicta atomweight history and the third-fastest overall. It was also the fifth-quickest stoppage of any kind in organizational history.

TWO FER: Claire Johnson hit the second reverse triangle armbar in Invicta history when she tapped Jordan Kaaze, and she did so in her MMA debut.

NOT THE BEST OF HABITS: Each of the last nine Invicta events has featured at least one fighter who has missed weight (Caliari), making this the longest stretch of events to display unscheduled catchweights or change matchups because a fighter came in over the limit. Previously, Invicta 22-Invicta 29 -- a span of eight cards -- was the lengthiest streak of this kind.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN: Coming into Invicta 37, Walker-Sanchez (six fights) and Messer-Belenchia (three fights) had never been defeated, Caliari had never been finished (five fights) and VanHoose had never been knocked out (11 fights).
