Rafael dos Anjos is one step closer to becoming a two-division Ultimate Fighting Championship champion.
The former lightweight titlist improved to 3-0 at 170 pounds on Saturday night, as he earned a dominant unanimous verdict over ex-champ Robbie Lawler in the UFC on Fox 26 headliner. Dos Anjos kept the pressure on his opponent for the duration of their 25-minute encounter, landing powerful low kicks at range and punishing shots in the clinch to sweep the judges’ scorecards. Lawler, who appeared to be hobbled early, has lost two of his last three Octagon appearances.

3: Submissions attempted by Julian Marquez in his victory over Darren Stewart at middleweight. “The Cuban Missile Crisis” was successful in his third attempt, forcing his foe to tap to a guillotine choke at the 2:42 mark of round two. 3-0: Record for Chad Laprise since moving up to welterweight from lightweight. “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations” winner earned a first-round technical knockout of Galore Bofando at UFC on Fox 26, his third consecutive TKO finish in the division.
16: Combined significant strikes landed by Alessio Di Chirico and Oluwale Bamgbose in their middleweight bout before a Di Chirico knee ended the contest at the 2:14 mark of the second round. In round one, the two combatants combined to land just seven significant strikes.
1,211: Days since Jordan Mein’s last victory, a first-round technical knockout triumph over Mike Pyle at UFC Fight Night 49. The 28-year-old “Young Gun” returned to the win column on Saturday, earning his 30th professional triumph with a unanimous verdict over Erick Silva.
81: Total strikes by which Mein outlanded Silva. Once one of the sport’s top Brazilian prospects, Silva has lost four of his last five UFC bouts.
