By The Numbers: Renato Carneiro vs. Benoit St. Denis
Renato Carneiro once again has his work cut out for him.
The American Top Team-trained Brazilian will look to keep his place in the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight line when he confronts Benoit St. Denis in the UFC Fight Night 243 headliner on Saturday at Accor Arena in Paris. Carneiro enters the cage on a three-fight winning streak, lurking just outside the Top 10 at 155 pounds. “Moicano” last competed at UFC 300, where he buried Jalin Turner with elbows and punches in the second round of their April 13 pairing. St. Denis, meanwhile, has rattled off five wins in six outings. However, he finds himself on the rebound following a knockout loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 299 in March. It was St. Denis’ first setback in well over two years.
