By The Numbers: Jan Blachowicz
Jan Blachowicz finds himself on the brink of title contention in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s light heavyweight division.
Blachowicz has the wind of a three-fight winning streak in his sails—a run that includes knockouts of Luke Rockhold and Corey Anderson, along with a split decision over Ronaldo Souza. The former Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki champion’s late-career surge puts him on a short list of potential suitors for reigning 205-pound titleholder Jon Jones, along with two men who have already failed to unseat the pound-for-pound ace: Dominick Reyes and Thiago Santos. Whether or not matchmakers intend to reward Blachowicz with a shot at the crown remains to be seen. He last competed at UFC Fight Night 167, where he wiped out the aforementioned Anderson with a sweeping right hook 3:08 into the first round of their rematch.
