In September of 2008, the Octagon went to Omaha, Nebraska, on a Wednesday night for UFC Fight Night 15. The card had notable names like Joe Lauzon, Alan Belcher, Ed Herman and Clay Guida on it. But what makes it significant is it was the first time that Nate Diaz headlined an Ultimate Fighting Championship show.
In the main event, the fighter from Stockton, California, took on Josh Neer and beat him by split decision. He has since headlined seven more shows and is set for his eighth at UFC 244. There he will take on Jorge Masvidal for the BMF title.
Guida beat Mac Danzig by decision, Alan Belcher defeated Ed Herman by decision and Joe Lauzon knocked out Kyle Bradley.
