Nevzorov, Evloev to Fight for Interim M-1 Bantamweight Title
Thanks to a long-term injury to reigning M-1 Challenge bantamweight
champion Pavel
Vitruk, M-1 Global has ordered an interim title fight to keep
the division moving. It was announced by promotion officials
Tuesday afternoon that Alexey
Nevzorov and Movsar
Evloev will lock horns at M-1 Challenge 76 on April 22 in
Ingushetia, Russia.
Nevzorov, who hails from the famed OEMK Team in Stary Oskol, home of Fedor Emelianenko, has won his last three bouts and 10 of his last 11 overall. The Russian last competed at M-1 Challenge 73 in December, when he knocked out Andrey Lazhnev in the second round.
Evloev, meanwhile, has yet to lose in the pro ranks. Slated to be fighting in front of his hometown fans, Evloev has torn through the M-1 ranks, quickly amassing a 6-0 record, with his most recent triumph also coming at M-1 Challenge 73 where he outpointed Lee Morrison over three rounds.
M-1 Global also announced that a featherweight matchup between Timur Nagibin and Diego D’Avila will also take place on the card, which will be streamed live at M1Global.tv. Additional bouts will be announced soon.
