PFL’s Clay Collard Calls out Jake Paul for a Boxing Match, ‘He Don’t Want No Smoke’

Clay Collard doubts recent Professional Fighters League signee Jake Paul would agree to face him in the squared circle.

Collard (21-10, 1 NC; 3-2 PFL) feels extra motivated ahead of his first fight in the 2023 PFL Regular Season. Last year, “Cassius” put on a show for the fans when he took on Jeremy Stephens in April, taking home a unanimous decision victory after a hard-fought contest. Collard’s path to the finals was then interrupted by a split-decision loss to Alex Martinez, a result Collard still sees as unjust. Now, the Pit Elevated Fight Team representative is preparing to face Yamato Nishikawa on the upcoming 2023 PFL 3 card on April 14. Collard is also a skillful boxer who tested himself several times in the squared circle in addition to the cage and hopes to face YouTuber-turned-professional-fighter Paul in boxing gloves one day. Still, Collard thinks Paul is avoiding a confrontation with someone who can stand his ground in the ring.

"Maybe Jake Paul since he's with the PFL now. Maybe he'll try to box me. I'll have to put on a little weight, but I'd love to beat him up, you know. He don't want no smoke, bro. He'd rather fight Nick Diaz or somebody, or freaking all these wrestlers, bro. He don't wanna fight somebody that's been in boxing. I mean, every guy I've boxed been undefeated or close to. I think the combined record of the guys I fought was like 300 and something, and like six. Hmm. So, yeah, I've been, I've been at this. All these guys, they're jumping on the bandwagon now, but I set the trend for these motherf—rs to start boxing, these MMA guys. I set the trend for that. I'm a trendsetter, bro. Everybody wants to be like “Cassius,” I guess.”
