New PFL Signee Martina Jindrova Sets Her Sights on Kayla Harrison
PFL Challenger Series winner Martina Jindrova doesn’t put any limits on her dreams for the upcoming season. Jindrova (4-2, 1-0 PFL) earned a contract with the Professional Fighters League after eking out a narrow split decision against Jacqueline Cavalcanti in the PFL Challenger Series 3 headliner on March 4. After the fight, Jindrova took a brief vacation to Egypt before heading back to the gym and preparing for her next assignment, which might be coming very soon. In an interview with Sherdog, Jindrova expressed her desire to face two-time lightweight champion Kayla Harrison, who recently renewed her contract with PFL for 2022. In Jindrova’s plans, they will clash at the end of the road for this year’s championship.
“I’m happy that she signed this contract again because it would be great to fight against her,” Jindrova said. “I wish to fight her in the [tournament] final.”
From time to time, Jindrova trains at American Top Team Europe, which is deeply linked to ATT’s flagship gym in Coconut Creek, Florida. Even though both Jindrova and Harrison are members of the same extended team, they have never trained together. It’s not uncommon for fighters training in ATT-related European gyms to fly to the headquarters and do their camp there.
“I didn’t have the chance [yet], but maybe in the future, I can go there. I will see, I [still] don’t know. Maybe later, we will see.”
In the same interview, the 31-year-old Czech revealed why she walked out with the Ukrainian flag, commented on her performance against Cavalcanti, and more.
