Jack Hermansson ‘Would Love to Run it Back’ against Marvin Vettori
hings are about to get intense in the headliner of the upcoming UFC Fight Night 200, where Jack Hermansson will lock horns with Sean Strickland. Hermansson (22-6, 9-4 UFC) is coming off a dominant performance against Edmen Shahbazyan in May. The Frontline Academy member spent the end of 2021 recovering from effects of COVID-19 and preparing for a wrestling match with Khamzat Chimaev, which Hermansson lost by decision. Now, “The Joker” is entirely focusing on committing his killing joke against his next victim at “UFC Vegas 47,” but confessed that he would like to avenge a couple of losses, starting with Marvin Vettori.
“Definitely, I would love to rematch Vettori,” Hermansson told Sherdog. "I had some problems in that fight since I sustained an injury very early in the fight. I would love to run it back with him, for sure. At the same time, it has to make sense. The UFC is usually not doing rematches if it isn’t for the title, but it’s definitely both him and Jared Cannonier, [whom] I also lost against. [They are] definitely [the] guys that I want to fight again and do better. I think we always feel like that if it doesn’t go our way, we want to run it back and avenge that loss that we have. We’ll see. I wouldn’t be surprised if I will fight Marvin one more time in the future.”
Hermansson also discussed pursuing a rematch with Chimaev in a grappling match, talked about the preparations for his next fight, discussed the middleweight championship landscape, and more.
