Adilet Alimbek Uulu put away South Korean teenager Kyu Jun Cho with a neck crank in the second round of their featherweight feature. Cho (3-1, 0-1 ONE) raised the white flag of surrender 3:55 into Round 2, suffering his first setback as a pro.
Uulu (5-0, 1-0 ONE) wore down his counterpart with merciless pressure and repeated takedowns throughout a frenetic first five minutes. In fact, Cho, 18, collapsed in his corner from exhaustion between rounds, resulting in his being admonished by referee Mohamad Sulaiman. He enjoyed a brief second wind in the middle stanza but yielded top position to Uulu and ultimately broke. The Kyrgyzstani “Tiger” climbed to full mount, progressed to the back and cinched the neck crank after a brief struggle.
The 21-year-old Uulu has finished all five of his opponents.
