Feb 14, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- London, England (February 12, 2013) - Robbie
Olivier has signed a five-fight contract with Cage Warriors
Fighting Championship.
The deal will commit "The Flame" Olivier (18-9-1-1) exclusively to the organization for a period of 18 months, with the veteran featherweight set to return to action shortly.
The 34-year-old Englishman, who was previously ranked number one in
Europe, made his professional debut back in 2002 and has since
accumulated 18 wins, 13 of which have come via stoppage.
Olivier holds notable victories over several fighters with UFC and Bellator experience, including Brad Pickett, Ronnie Mann, Leigh Remedios, Sammy Schiavo and Greg Loughran.
Fighting out of Cambridge’s Tsunami Gym alongside the likes of UFC welterweight John Maguire and TUF star Luke Barnatt, Olivier’s last defeat came via decision at the hands of current Bellator champion Pat Curran in February 2010.
“Robbie Olivier is one of the best fighters the UK has produced over the last decade, so we’re delighted to have him on board,” said Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan.
“He may have been around for a while but the guy is supremely talented and I believe the best is yet to come. I’m personally very excited about seeing him in action for Cage Warriors.”
