LANTRIP OUT TO PROVE THAT HE IS STILL A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH
Mar 27, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- One of the top heavyweight prospects in the
mid-south makes his way back to the cage on April 6 when Houston
Lantrip (4-0, Memphis Judo and Jiu-Jitsu) takes on Pete
Pirtle.
A couple of years ago, Lantrip was regarded as the top heavyweight fighter in the mid-south region, but then accepted a football scholarship to Louisiana Tech and had to put MMA on hold.
Well now Lantrip is back after a four-year layoff and ready to pick
up right where he left off. He now trains at MBJJ (he started off
at their sister school “The Fight Clinic”) and is ready to prove
that he belongs among the elite heavyweights in the area.
On April 6, he takes on Pete Pirtle, and Landtrip knows that this will be a tough challenge for him in his V3 debut. According to Lantrip, “My opponent looks like a good striker and so am I, so I think it’ll be a good scrap. I’m well rounded for the most part but I think my greatest attributes are my speed and footwork. I’m very excited and can’t wait to fight.”
This event will be aired on both Comcast Sports South and Aggression TV.

A lot has changed since Lantrip last stepped in the cage. When he
left the MMA scene four years ago to pursue football, there was a
lack of depth in the talent pool in the heavyweight division.
V3Fights has changed that, and now not only are there more talented
heavyweights fighting in this area, but the division is now
stacked. Can Lantrip prove that not only was he one of the pioneers
in the heavyweight division in the mid-south, but that he is still
the top one around? We will find out on April 6!!!
