Yair Rodriguez, Dennis Bermudez, Thales Leites Among Favorites at UFC Fight Night 92
Yair Rodriguez has inspired belief among the oddsmakers.
Rodriguez according to BetDSI.com has been installed as a healthy -300 favorite ahead of his clash with Alex Caceres (+250) in the UFC Fight Night 92 main event on Saturday at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City. Dennis Bermudez (-210) will face Rony Mariano Bezerra (+180) in the featherweight co-headliner.
A Chicago-based taekwondo black belt who has spent time training at the powerhouse Jackson-Wink MMA camp in New Mexico, Rodriguez will enter the cage on the strength of a six-fight winning streak. The 23-year-old burst on the scene in 2014, winning “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America.” Rodriguez last fought at UFC 197 on April 23, when he knocked out Andre Fili with a second-round head kick at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Spawned by Season 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series, Caceres now operates out of the MMA Lab in Glendale, Arizona, where he trains under John Crouch. The 28-year-old has followed a three-fight losing streak with back-to-back wins over Masio Fullen and Cole Miller. Victories over current Legacy Fighting Championship titleholder Damacio Page and Roufusport’s Sergio Pettis bolster the Caceres resume.
Other favorites on the six-fight main card: Thales Leites (-185) over Chris Camozzi (+160), Santiago Ponzinibbio (-199) over Zak Cummings (+170), Joseph Gigliotti (-140) over Trevor Smith (+120) and Maryna Moroz (-230) over Danielle Taylor (+195).
