Four men walked away from UFC Fight Night 37 with an extra $50,000 for their efforts, as Dong Hyun Kim, Matt Mitrione, Yui Chul Nam and Kazuki Tokudome were all awarded post-fight bonuses.
UFC President Dana White announced the awards via Twitter, revealing that Kim and Mitrione took home “Performance of Night” bonuses, while Nam and Tokudome shared “Fight of the Night” honors.
UFC Fight Night 37 took place Saturday at Cotai Arena in Macau and saw Kim finish John Hathaway in the evening’s main event live on UFC Fight Pass. Following two rounds of competitive welterweight action, “Stun Gun” caught Hathaway with a violent spinning elbow in the third period, instantly relieving the Brit of his consciousness.
Mitrione made quick work of fellow heavyweight Shawn Jordan, hurting the former Louisiana State University fullback with punches and then swarming him with more blows to end the fight with just one second remaining in the opening period.
At lightweight, Nam and Tokudome put on a wild three-rounder to highlight the show’s undercard. Though Nam badly hurt the Japanese talent in the first frame, Tokudome responded with offense of his own in round two and made the third stanza competitive. In the end, however, “The Korean Bulldozer” was awarded a split decision to extend his current winning streak to five fights.
