The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Norfolk, Virginia, this Saturday for UFC Fight Night 169, and the main event has been rocked by controversy.
The event will possibly see a new flyweight champion be crowned as Joseph Benavidez will battle Deiveson Figueiredo for the vacant strap. Benavidez (28-5) will be looking to win the first championship of his decorated career. "Joe B-Wan Kenobi" has won nine of his last 10 bouts, with victories coming over the likes of Jussier Formiga, Henry Cejudo, and Ali Bagautinov. The Sacramento native has come up short in his two previous UFC title fights against former kingpin Demetrious Johnson. The veteran looked prepared and came in at 124.5 pounds, and is now the only fighter of the two headliners eligible to win the belt in victory.
