Cormier tipped the scales at 205 pounds in advance of his five-round showdown with Jones (205) for the Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight crown in the UFC 182 main event on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Lightweight co-headliners Donald Cerrone (155.5) and Myles Jury (155.5) also met their contracted weight requirements without incident at Friday’s official weigh-in.
UFC 182 “Jones vs. Cormier” -- which airs live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT -- will also feature a middleweight scrap pairing former Pancrase titleholder Nate Marquardt (185.5) with Brad Tavares (185), a flyweight clash pitting surging Japanese contender Kyoji Horiguchi (125) against onetime Ring of Combat champion Louis Gaudinot (125) and a welterweight battle matching American Top Team’s Hector Lombard (170.5) with the returning Josh Burkman (171).
Two hours prior, Fox Sports 1 will carry four preliminary matchups: Danny Castillo (156) vs. Paul Felder (156), Marcus Brimage (136) vs. Cody Garbrandt (135.5), Shawn Jordan (261) vs. Jared Cannonier (235) and Evan Dunham (155.5) vs. Rodrigo Damm (156). The two remaining undercard bouts will stream to UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, as Omari Akhmedov (170.5) meets Mats Nilsson (171) and Alexis Dufresne (138) faces Marion Reneau (135.5).
