A featherweight duel pitting Nik Lentz against Manny Gamburyan will take place when the UFC revisits Cincinnati on May 10.
UFC officials Thursday announced that verbal agreements are in place for the booking, which takes place at U.S. Bank Arena and additionally features a heavyweight showdown between hard-hitting Australian Soa Palelei and reigning EFC Africa champion Ruan Potts. Neither broadcast plans nor a main event has been announced for the show.
Lentz, 29, last competed in December, when former title contender Chad Mendes defeated “The Carny” by unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 9. Prior to that loss, Lentz had won three straight fights, scoring victories over Eiji Mitsuoka, Diego Nunes and Hacran Dias to begin his run at 145 pounds.
Another former lightweight, Gamburyan, 32, has gone 2-3 since rejoining the UFC in 2011. “The Anvil” went 1-1 last year, earning a controversial unanimous verdict over Cole Miller in August before dropping a decision to German striker Dennis Siver this past December at UFC 168.
