CES MMA 36 goes down Friday at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island, and will be televised live on AXS TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The show will be headlined by a lightweight showdown between Nate Andrews and Luis Muro. As expected, both men stepped to the scale on point at Thursday’s weigh-in, checking in at 156 pounds. Another featured attraction has Ryan Sanders locking horns with Levan Makashvili.
Sanders was supposed to oppose Luis Felix for the lightweight title in the original main event and had spent eight weeks training for it. When Felix withdrew from the card due to an injury in training, the scramble for a new opponent was underway. That did not deter the Maine fighter from making weight: Sanders tipped the scales at 156 pounds.
Makashvili, a three-fight UFC veteran recently released from the Las Vegas-based promotion, is looking to get back on track. Makashvili pounced on the chance to fight in CES MMA and looked as ready as he ever has. He checked in officially at 156 pounds.
