Bantamweights Ken Stone, Edwin Figueroa Collide at UFC on FX 4
A new bantamweight bout has been added to the developing UFC on FX 4dance card, as promotion officials recently announced that Ken Stone will face Edwin Figueroa at the June 22 event.
Headlined by a pivotal 155-pound attraction pitting Gray Maynard against Clay Guida, UFC on FX 4 marks the Las Vegas-based promotion’s first trip to Atlantic City, N.J., since UFC 53 in 2005. The evening’s main draw airs live on FX and will be immediately preceded by the undercard broadcast on Fuel TV.
Representing American Top Team, Stone, 29, racked up a 9-1 record to start his career before stumbling in his World Extreme Cagefighting debut against former WEC champion Eddie Wineland in December 2010. Following his devastating knockout defeat to Wineland, Stone was then finished by the highly-regarded Scott Jorgensen in his UFC debut this past June. The Floridian rebounded from the defeats in his most recent outing, however, submitting Donny Walker on Sept. 17 at Fight Night 25.
Figueroa burst onto the big stage just over one year ago, stepping in on short notice to face rising talent Michael McDonald at Fight Night 24. Following a hard-fought decision loss to “Mayday,” Figueroa dominated Jason Reinhardt in August, notching a second-round technical knockout over the veteran before besting “Ultimate Fighter” Season 12 alumnus Alex Caceres via split decision at UFC 143 in February.
