Today I woke up at around three in the afternoon, with the taste of
vomit in my mouth and a vague sensation of pleasurable indulgence
in the recent past. There was a strange draughty feeling about my
skin and something wet in my hair, but I cleverly surmised that
this might have something to do with the fact that I was hanging
naked from a tree by my feet, and a dog was urinating on my
head.
Ah well, let this be a lesson to you all. When trying to woo members of the opposite sex in a pub, try to make sure that their partners don’t have cauliflower ears and knife scars.
Looking on the bright side, your intrepid reporter managed to
collar a number of juicy rumors before being set upon by furious
hooligans. Let’s take a look in Santa’s little bag.
Ultimate Fight Club
In other kickboxing action, Paul “Hands of Stone” Jenkins managed to overcome the fact that he is Welsh and defeated Paul “Semtex” Daley by majority decision in a closely fought match.

I wish I could think of a good pun about Dave Vader’s name
It’s all in the title, really. Or, to be precise, it isn’t, because this piece of gossip is about the third installment of Paul Cahoon’s Cage Fighting Championships promotion.
CFC 3 will be held at the Liverpool Olympia on Sunday, March 6. The rumored headline was a mouth-watering clash between Paul Cahoon and Ian Freeman, but unfortunately Freeman was unavailable due to other work commitments. Consequently Cahoon, in a characteristic fit of heroism, has opted to fight Dutch man-mountain and Jedi master Dave Vader.
The confirmed card is as follows:

Usually an injury before a major show is an annoyance, resulting in wonderful mismatches along the proverbial lines of Papa Smurf against Godzilla. Fortunately this is not the case for UK MMA fans.
An injury to Matt Ewin means that his teammate, Mark “The Wizard” Weir, will replace him in the match against Gabriel “The Gladiator” Santos, scheduled for Cage Rage 10 on February 26.
I feel bad for Ewin, who is an exciting prospect for UK MMA, and who would have had the chance to show what he had against solid international competition after his promising performance against Andrei Semenov at the M-1 show in December. Weir, however, is usually worth the admission price alone, so fans will not be disappointed.
On the subject of Cage Rage 10, a preliminary fight has also been changed, with Ricky “Just The Trick” Andrews being brought in, possibly just in order to upset Jeremy Bailey. Andrews is set to face the tough David Lee.

One of the blokes I bumped into down the pub the other day happened to be the rising young UK MMA starlet, Paul “Semtex” Daley. Not satisfied with pummeling opponents into unconsciousness in the UK, Daley has been negotiating to deliver his patented left hook onto the faces of his opponents in foreign shores.
Possibly attracted by the promise of willing blondes, Daley has agreed to fight at the European Vale Tudo “Phoenix” event, which takes place in Stockholm, Sweden on October 8.
Semtex and the Nottingham NEMESIS Fight Night
Apparently not satisfied with being an MMA and kickboxing supremo, young Mr. Daley has opted to try his hand at promoting.
The Nottingham NEMESIS Fight Night will debut on February 27, at the Victoria Leisure centre in Snienton, Nottingham. The main event is something of a grudge match between the flamboyant Welshman, Paul “Hands of Stone” Jenkins, and Team Rough House’s Dan Hardy. Jenkins beat Hardy’s teammate, Paul Daley, at the Ultimate Fight Club event in January, and Hardy will be out to avenge him.
Standard tickets will be £18 in advance and £20 on the door. There are only 2 VIP tables (food, wine, champagne and waitress service) left. They seat six and are priced at £300 per table.
Door will open at 6 p.m. with fights starting at 7 p.m.

The first installment of the new CageWarriors Quest promotion has been confirmed for April 8, at the Sheffield Octagon Centre. This is the semi-professional show, which “will be used to test both new innovative ideas within the CageWarriors organization and to find the next generation of UK MMA stars.” Tickets are £20 each, and tables will be £280, seating seven people. The card is yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the CageWarriors Northern franchise show has been confirmed for April 30 at the Xscape Centre, near Leeds. Again, the card is yet to be confirmed.
Wanderlei Silva seminar
Some guy with a tattoo on his head threatened me the other day, unless I promised to remind everyone that the Wanderlei Silva seminar is still scheduled for February 26, just before the Cage Rage 10 show.
Due to people presumably wanting to have recovered consciousness by the time the event itself starts, the seminar time has been changed, now going from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Places are running out fast with less than 20 still remaining. The cost of the seminar is £50 per person, with a small discount if people purchase Cage Rage tickets and Seminar tickets through the organizer, Alex De Souza.

Mike “The Count” Bisping continued his unbeaten streak in
everything by stopping a durable David Brown by TKO (cut) in the
second round of their main event match at the Ultimate Fight Club
event in Sheffield on January 29. The match was fought under
kickboxing rules.
