By the Numbers: UFC Fight Night 132
Leon Edwards has entered a new echelon in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s welterweight weight division.
Fighting into the championship rounds for the first time in his professional career, Edwards held off popular veteran Donald Cerrone for a unanimous decision victory in the UFC Fight Night 132 headliner at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, on Saturday. The 26-year-old Englishman has established himself as a contender to watch at 170 pounds, and he has already targeted Jorge Masvidal as his next potential foe. Edwards progress will be interesting to watch in the coming months, but first, let’s take a look back at his work against “Cowboy.”

6: Consecutive victories for Edwards, tying him with Colby Covington and Santiago Ponzinibbio for the second longest active winning streak in the welterweight division. Only Kamaru Usman (eight) has a longer winning streak at 170 pounds.

2-0: Record for Jessica Eye at 125 pounds in the Octagon after taking a three-round verdict against Jessica-Rose Clark in a featured affair. The Strong Style Fight Team product began her promotional tenure with a 1-5 record — along with one no contest — in seven bantamweight appearances.
96: Significant landed by Jingliang Li against Daichi Abe in a featured welterweight tilt. By comparison, Abe landed 45 significant strikes. In cruising to a dominant victory, “The Leech” outlanded his foe 35 to 20 in round one, 34 to 14 in round two and 27 to 11 in round three.

2: Knockdowns landed by Petr Yan in his first-round stoppage of Teruto Ishihara at 135 pounds. Yan sent his adversary to the floor with a left hand to the jaw early, and as Ishihara returned to his feet, dropped him with another punch to bring an end to the contest at the 3:28 mark of the frame.
79: Total strikes by which Yadong Song outlanded Felipe Arantes en route to a knockout victory at 4:59 of round two. Song held a whopping 88-to-9 edge in total strikes during the bantamweight contest.
104: Significant strikes landed by Shane Young in his second-round technical knockout of Rolando Dy at featherweight, the most of anyone on the UFC Fight Night 132 card. Young outlanded his opponent 52 to 24 in round one and 52 to 33 in round two before the finish.
3-0: Record for Jake Matthews since moving to 170 pounds. The 23-year-old tapped out Shinsho Anzai with a rear-naked choke 2:44 into the opening round of their preliminary welterweight bout on Saturday. “The Celtic Kid” compiled a 4-3 record in the Octagon as a lightweight.
27: Significant leg strikes landed by Xiaonan Yan in her unanimous verdict over Viviane Pereira in their preliminary strawweight bout. Pereira, meanwhile, did not land a significant strike to the leg. All told, Yan outlanded her foe by a 71-to-44 count in significant strikes.
3: Submission victories for Yuta Sasaki in UFC competition following his rear-naked choke of Jenel Lausa at the 4:04 mark of round two in their flyweight tilt. That ties him with Jussier da Silva and John Moraga for the second-most submission victories in the history of the division. Only reigning champion Demetrious Johnson (five) has more.
5: Takedowns landed in seven attempts for Sasaki, the most of anyone at UFC Fight Night 132. “Ulka” also passed guard on nine occasions.
