By The Numbers: UFC on ESPN 62 Pre-Fight Edition

Jared Cannonier will attempt to hold his ground as a Top 5 middleweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship when he does battle with Caio Borralho in the UFC on ESPN 62 headliner this Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Angela Hill sets her sights on Tabatha Riccia in the three-round women’s strawweight co-main event at 115 pounds.

As UFC on ESPN 62 “Cannonier vs. Borralho” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the docket bring to the table:

40: Years of age for Cannonier. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born in Dallas on March 16, 1984. “Splash,” “Footloose,” “The Ice Pirates,” “Tank” and “Against All Odds” were the Top 5 movies at the domestic box office at the time.

11: Consecutive calendar years in which Borralho has fought at least once. In addition to his 1-0 mark in 2024, he went 1-0 in 2014, 0-1 in 2015, 1-0 in 2016, 1-0 in 2017, 1-0 with one no contest in 2018, 3-0 in 2019, 1-0 in 2020, 2-0 in 2021, 3-0 in 2022 and 2-0 in 2023.

274: Days spent by Hill as Invicta Fighting Championships strawweight titleholder. She laid claim to the 115-pound championship with a split verdict over Livinha Souza at Invicta 17 on May 7, 2016, took a unanimous decision from Kaline Medeiros in her only title defense at Invicta 20 on Nov. 18, 2016 and vacated the throne to re-sign with the UFC on Feb. 4, 2017.

18: Takedowns completed by Ricci across her seven assignments in the UFC. She has surrendered only two of them.

6: Countries in which Robert Valentin has plied his MMA trade. He has gone 3-1 in Switzerland, 1-1 with one no contest in France, 2-0 in Germany, 2-0 in the Netherlands, 1-1 in Austria and 1-0 in Russia. Valentin meets Ryan Loder in “The Ultimate Fighter 32” middleweight final.

1: Loss on the Loder resume. He wound up on the wrong side of a split decision against Troy Green at A1 Combat 7 on May 13, 2023.

24: Years of age for Mairon Santos. The youngest fighter on the card, he was born on June 10, 2000 in Duque de Caxias, Brazil—more than 6,000 miles from where he now trains at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas. Santos faces Kaan Ofli in “The Ultimate Fighter 32” featherweight final.

31: Rounds started by Ofli as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on seven different occasions and carries a 4-2-1 record in those bouts.

2,525: Total strikes landed by Neil Magny as a member of the UFC roster, placing him fourth on the promotion’s all-time list. Only Max Holloway (3,622), Georges St. Pierre (2,591) and Rafael dos Anjos (2,525) have connected with more. Magny confronts the unbeaten Michael Morales in a three-round welterweight showcase.

100: Seconds needed for Morales to put away Mathias Salazar with punches at a Manaba Top Team event on Sept. 16, 2019. Nearly five years later, it remains his fastest finish to date.

28: Gerald Meerschaert victories by submission, accounting for 78% of his career total (36). His methods of choice: nine rear-naked chokes, seven guillotine chokes, four arm-triangle chokes, two triangle chokes, two armbars, one neck crank, one kimura, one anaconda choke and one face crank. Meerschaert toes the line against Edmen Shahbazyan in a three-round middleweight attraction.

5: Sub-minute finishes to Shahbazyan’s credit, though only one of them has taken place inside the Octagon. He buried Charles Byrd with elbows and punches in 38 seconds at UFC 235 on March 2, 2019.

.761: Cumulative winning percentage between the 24 fighters booked to compete at UFC on ESPN 62. They sport a combined record of 289-90-2. Meerschaert holds the most victories of anyone on the card (28) while also being saddled with the most losses (17).
