Azeredo Outpoints Vieira in Brazil

SAO PAULO, Brazil, Feb. 13 -- The Gazeta Theatre hosted the first
edition of The One VIP Fighting on Wednesday in Sao Paulo.
The main attraction of the night was once again the rivalry between Chute Boxe and Brazilian Top Team. Chute Boxe's Luiz Azeredo (Pictures) fought well against BTT's Milton Vieira (Pictures), imposing his pace from beginning to end.
Azeredo engaged in striking exchanges, but it was his takedowns and
a large advantage on the ground that increased his lead during the
three rounds of the fight. Encouraged by his entire team, which
came in great numbers from Curitiba, Azeredo gave Vieira few
opportunities en route to a unanimous decision.
"The fight was very tough," Azeredo said. "Miltinho is a very good guy. I imposed my pace and I am very happy with this victory."
Nascimento had taken the fight on a few days' notice and was exhausted. Yet he maintained the pressure and eventually won the decision.
"The fight was difficult because I was again called last hour," Nascimento said. "I dominated the first two rounds, but I tired. I had to hold on in the third and I got the victory. I do not choose with whom I fight, but I come and show my work."
Fernando Paulon showed why he is one of the great up-and-comers at Brazilian Top Team by winning his sixth consecutive bout, this time against Magno Santos (Ichigeki).
During the three rounds of the dispute, Paulon used his good takedowns to annul the striking of his opponent. He controlled the positioning on the ground, where he tried some attacks without finishing before earning the decision.
"I am preparing to fight for a long time [after] achieving my sixth consecutive victory in MMA," Paulon said. "I want to maintain this pace and continue winning."
A bout between Luis "Besouro" and Mauro "Xuxa" was canceled after "Besouro" failed to make weight. After the team of "Xuxa" did not accept the match, the organization invited Flavio Alvaro (Pictures) (Macaco-Chute Boxe) to fight Julian Jabá (RFT) with less than 24 hours before the event.
The fight was the best and most interesting of the show. Álvaro used his greater experience to take down and control Jabá on the floor for three rounds. By keeping the same pace throughout the fight, Alvaro won the decision.
"I was invited at the last minute, but I'm a warrior and I like to fight," Alvaro said. "I accepted and I did a great job. I released my game and showed my work."
Rodrigo Ruiz (Brasa) and Allyson "Soneca" (Godoi JJ) opened the night with a busy fight. Imposing his BJJ, Ruiz dominated almost all of the three-round bout and won a decision.
"The fight went the way I trained and I gave everything right," Ruiz said. "I dominated my opponent and thank God that I could leave with a victory."
In the Fight Demolition striking-only matches, Fernando Junior (Marcio Costa) knocked out Thiago Sandre (Sit Master Roney), and Ricardo Galheta (Gibi Thai) upset K-1 Max veteran Marfio Canoletti (Sit Master Roney) via decision.

Leonardo Lucio
Nascimento (RFT) had no easy time with striker Alexandre Sagat
(Gibi Thai). The more experienced Nascimento dominated the first
round by controlling the fight on the ground. However, Sagat took
control standing and almost finished the fight in the third round,
which saw Nascimento grow fatigued.
