“Me and Gilbert used to train together for many years. Me, Gilbert, Alistair [Overeem] and Valentijn [Overeem], we all trained together. … I think Gilbert, he had the capability to be one of the biggest fighters ever. He was just a freak of nature. Very powerful, very explosive. He was just a beast, he was just a beast. With a lack of experience, he still demolished so many great fighters and he did so well. When he came to the States, he didn’t really break through. I think that’s really a pity. He had the capability to be one of the best ever in MMA.”
