Jose Aldo has one more reason to defend his Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight crown against Anthony Pettis this summer.
Aldo is scheduled to put his 145-pound title on the line against the former World Extreme Cagefighting lightweight champion on Aug. 3. Should he emerge victorious, the Brazilian will receive an immediate title shot at 155 pounds, according to UFC President Dana White.

Pettis has established himself as one of MMA’s most dynamic fighters. The 26-year-old Milwaukee native last fought at UFC on Fox 6 in January, when he cut down Donald Cerrone with a first-round liver kick at the United Center in Chicago. A protégé of former world kickboxing champion Duke Roufus, Pettis has won seven of his last eight bouts.
