Sittichai Retains Lightweight Title with Points Win over Marat Grigorian at Glory 36
Muay Thai superstar Sittichai Sitsongpeenong was remarkable in the
Glory 36 main event as he battled Marat Grigorian in a tough,
hard-fought duel. The two played a tactical battle throughout and
each man landed his fair share of strikes. But Sittichai was
slightly better in the end as he landed the cleaner, more telling
blows and was awarded with a split decision win. Sittichai won via
tallies of 49-47, 49-46, 48-47 (twice) and 47-48.
Dylan Salvador won the Glory 36 Lightweight Contender Tournament by first edging Anatoly Moiseev via majority decision and then winning a unanimous nod over Hysni Beqiri in the tourney finals. Beqiri out-pointed Antonio Gomes to reach the finals.
Fabio Pinca eked past Mosab Amrani via split decision in the Glory 36 co-feature. He won via scores of 29-28 (twice), 29-27, 30-27 and 28-29.
In the Glory 36 SuperFight Series undercard, Michael Duut edged Danyo Illunga by unanimous decision after going to an extra round; Harut Grigorian knocked out Danijel Solaja at 1:01 of the first; and Tyjani Beztati toppled Andrej Bruhl via unanimous nod.
