Rory MacDonald’s visage was a bloody, mangled mess in the immediate aftermath of his classic UFC 189 clash against Robbie Lawler. On Sunday, “The Red King” wasn’t looking all that much better. MacDonald posted a photo of his severely swollen face on Twitter, announcing that he had broken his nose and foot, “but I’ll be back.” After nearly finishing Lawler earlier in the fight, MacDonald succumbed to a wicked left hand and follow-up blows from Lawler 60 seconds into the fifth frame.

The Tristar Gym standout later tweeted another gruesome image from his fight, thanking the UFC, coach Firas Zahabi and Lawler for what he called “the best time of my life.”
