Rich Franklin's One Warrior Series Awards Six-Figure Contract to Shinechagtaga Zoltsetseg
Now in its sixth iteration, Rich
Franklin's
One Warrior Series concluded with Mongolian kickboxing champion
Shinechagtaga
Zoltsetseg knocking out Hyun Jin
Lee in the first minute of Round 1 and winning a six-figure
deal with mixed martial arts promotion One
Championship.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight belt holder Rich Franklin, who now serves as the CEO of the One Warrior Series, has high hopes for the promotion's latest signing. "This was our sixth and most exciting ONE Warrior Series event to date," said Franklin. "As the competition continues to grow fierce, the bouts become better and better. This season, we've had a steady influx of top-notch talent walk through our doors. In the end, it was 'Shine' who impressed the most and we feel he is ready for the bright lights of the One Championship Circle. 'Shine' has shown a warrior spirit from day one in the organization and has been through some wars. He has definitely earned this contract. I look for him to do big things in One!"
The 22-year-old Zoltsetseg (5-2 MMA) has been competing in martial arts since 2010, racking up national championships in kickboxing, sanda and boxing. The lightweight also competed in boxing under the Mongolian flag for the 2016 Olympic games.
One Warrior Series 6 also saw Xie Xiaoxing, Michele Ferreira, Satomi Takano, Ji Yeon Seo, Myung Gu Kim and Jerry Olsim walk away with "warrior" bonuses for their individual performances.
