Jack Encarnacao returned to The Sherdog Radio Network live for
another edition of "The Rewind." Encarnacao looked back at this
week in mixed martial arts, took a step back to examine Daniel
Cormier's breakthrough performance over Antonio
Silva in the semi-finals of the Strikforce grand prix, talked
with pro wrestler Kurt Angle to discuss his role in the new
MMA-themed movie "Warrior" and a potential mixed martial arts
career, then sat down with veteran referee "Big" John McCarthy to
discuss the history and future of mixed martial arts.
Joning Jack to breakdown Daniel Cormier's fight with "Big Foot" was his lead trainer Javier Mendez. The lead trainer of American Kickboxing Academy discussed his reaction when he received the news that his charge would be a replacement in the grand prix, the preparations leading up to the bout and his thoughts and Daniel's performance.
In "The Sitdown" Jack and John discussed a variety of topics in mixed martial arts but the majority of the discussion surrounded the history of the sport. McCarthy shared a unique take on many events that lead the rules and regulations we have today and shared what changes he feels need to made going forward.
