In what was a sizable upset in the main event of the latest edition of Premier Boxing Champions’ PBC on Spike series, David Peralta narrowly edged former world champion Robert Guerrero via split decision over 12 rounds.

The welterweight clash was littered with bursts of great action, but Guerrero appeared to age more and more as the fight wore on, The crowd inside the Honda Center in Anaheim watched as the massive underdog battled his guts out until the very end and he wound up stealing a win from away from a man who desperately needed it.
When the smoke settled, the ringside judges shocked virtually everybody by revealing that two of them scored the bout in favor of Peralta (26-2-1, 14 KOs) via split decision with scores of 115-113 and 116-112 while the third judge saw it 115-113 for Guerrero (33-5-1, 18 KOs).
In a thrilling super middleweight brawl, Freddy Hernandez out-boxed and out-slugged knockout artist Alfredo Angulo over 10 rounds to earn himself a unanimous, hard-fought decision. Angulo (24-6, 20 KOs) was his typical relentless self as he tried to goad his foe into a wild toe-to-toe affair, but “El Riel” was intelligent in opting against it most of the time.
Hernandez was cut over his left eye and even with the blood seeping into his vision, the Mexico City fighter remained as calm as he could and picked apart Angulo from the outside with his long reach. Angulo never ceased in trying to get on the inside, which created several moments of action but in the end, Hernandez (34-8, 22 KOs) was too poised and won via tallies of 97-93 (twice) and 98-92.
In the opening bout of the PBC on Spike telecast, 2012 U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha barely got past fellow junior middleweight Steve Martinez over 10 rounds. Gausha was slow to get things going but when he did, his movement and jab perplexed the more aggressive Martinez (16-3, 13 KOs) throughout. Martinez kept things close but he just didn’t do quite enough to turn the judges in his favor. Gausha (19-0, 9 KOs) was given the verdict via majority decision with scores of 95-95 and 97-93 (twice).
