Pearson vs. Bogere Added to April 30 Jack-Bute Card on Showtime
Mayweather Promotions announced that two of its best fighters have
been assigned to co-headline the undercard of the massive Showtime
Championship Boxing event on April 30 from the DC Armory in the
nation’s capital.
Chris Pearson (16-1, 11 KOs) will look to bounce back from his first professional defeat as he squares off against veteran Joshua Okine (22-5, 15 KOs) in a scheduled 10-round middleweight encounter. The 2011 amateur national champion has already taken out serviceable opposition like Lanardo Tyner, Steve Martinez and Said El Harrak.
Also in a middleweight 10-rounder, Sharif Bogere (27-1, 19 KOs)
aims to build upon his current four-fight winning streak when he
battles Samuel Amoako (21-9, 15 KOs). Bogere has already conquered
such foes as Raymundo Beltran, Francisco Contreras and Manuel.
Bogere is a native of Uganda while Amoako is originally from
Ghana.
The event is headlined by the WBC super middleweight championship between titlist Badou Jack and Lucian Bute. The co-featured contest will see IBF 168-pound champion James DeGale defending his crown against Rogelio Medina.
Showtime will televise the action live beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
