Glory 40 Weigh-in Results: Wilnis, Marcus Cleared for Championship Rubber Match
Glory, the world’s leading kickboxing promotion, will be invading Denmark over the weekend with a card stacked full of expected violence. Headlining Glory 40: “Copenhagen” will be Jason “Psycho” Wilnis defending his middleweight title against Simon Marcus, a man he knows well, and at Friday’s weigh-ins, both men cleared the final hurdle toward their rubber match.

Marcus (45-3-2, 24 KOs) has since rebounded with two wins; he stopped Dustin Jacoby at Glory 34 and then scored a TKO of Wang Shaohua at Wu Fight last December. Marcus, who has previously held world titles for the Lion Fight and Kunlun Fight promotions, is eager to try and recapture the Glory title he lost last year. The Canadian came in at 183.4 pounds.
Glory 40: Copenhagen will also sport a four-man one night middleweight contender tournament. The first pairing will be Alex Pereira (20-5, 11 KOs) against Burim Rama (30-12-1, 14 KOs) while Yousri Belgaroui (20-3, 10 KOs) versus Agron Preteni (20-4-1, 5 KOs) will complete the bracket. The winner of the tourney will face either Wilnis or Marcus at a later date; all of the men came in on weight.
Glory 40 Copenhagen will be streamed live on ESPN2 beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT. UFC Fight Pass will carry the SuperFight Series undercard, starting live with the action at 1 p.m. ET/1 10 a.m. PT.
