The fight, which goes down at Friedrich Ebert Halle in Ludwigshafen, Germany, will be made available to boxing fans for $19.99 USD and will stream live beginning at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT. While the fight is technically a rematch, the two have never locked horns in the pro ranks. However, they know each other well as they have gone at it in the amateurs a decade ago.

Both Culcay (22-1, 11 KOs) and Andrade captured gold medals in the World Amateur Championships before competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. However, when they squared off in the amateurs, Andrade triumphed over Culcay in Chicago on his way to a gold medal in the ’07 World Championships.

Andrade (23-0, 16 KOs) won the United States Amateur Boxing Championship in ’05 and ’06 and followed that feat up with back-to-back Golden Gloves championships in ’06 and ’07. Andrade, arguably the greatest amateur boxer in Rhode Island history, conquered eventual welterweight world champion Keith Thurman in the Olympic Trials en route to representing the U.S. in Beijing. As a pro, Andrade has been superb, having won the vacant WBO junior middleweight title in ’13 by edging Vanes Matirosyan via split decision. He Defended his title once before being stripped of it due to inactivity, but now his sights are on Culcay’s WBA strap.

Culcay, who captured gold at the ’09 World Amateur Championships after representing Germany, though he lost in the first round to Kim Jung-Joo. He turned pro in December ’09 and quickly ascended the ranks. After capturing a few regional titles and the interim WBA junior middleweight belt before being promoted to the sanctioning body’s “regular” champion last June. Needless to say, he is amped for the chance to even the score with Andrade.

“Losing to Andrade in the 2007 amateur championships is something that has stayed with me to this day,” said Culcay. “I’m so happy that I will finally get the chance to get my revenge against Andrade and show I am the better fighter.”
