Ex-Wife of Former Boxing Champ Ishe Smith Murdered in Las Vegas

Latoya Wollen, the ex-wife of former IBF super welterweight world champion Ishe Smith, was murdered in Las Vegas earlier this week. According to multiple reports, Wollen was shot in the back of the head in front of a Dollar Tree store on East Flamingo Rd near Maryland Pkwy late Sunday evening and died at the scene.

Wollen was reported sitting on a short wall just outside the store while holding three grocery bags. At the time of the shooting, Wollen had her headphones on and never saw the perpetrator coming while she was likely waiting for a ride. Metro Police do not believe she was the victim of a robbery because her killer left her purse and phone.

“He’s a coward,” a distraught Smith told local ABC news affiliate on Tuesday. “Man or woman, just a coward. You don't shoot a woman in the back of the head (and) take her away from her three kids.”

According to police, have not identified a suspect or a possible motive. The Clark County coroner announced that gunshot wounds to the back of the head and neck were the cause of her death. The Dollar Tree has surveillance video that police will use to investigate the murder, according to ABC 13 Action News .
