Cormier Discusses MMA Debut on the Jordan Breen Show
Jordan Breen Sep 24, 2009
As almost every guest (save one) I tried to corral for Thursday's
Jordan Breen show was in transit to Barcelona for the ADCC
Submission Wrestling World Championships or Macau for Art of War,
it was hybrid sort of episode featuring listener calls and emails,
a robust weekend preview, and a chat with two-time Olympic wrestler
Daniel Cormier.
I talk a little "Rampage" and TUF 10 drama, steroids in Japan, and the proposed Rashad Evans-Thiago Silva bout, in addition to talking about a full slate of weekend cards from Macau to Roston-on-Don, Russia to Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Cormier and I discuss his path from the mat -- where he won six straight US Nationals titles and two Olympic berths -- to the cage, where he debuts Friday night against Gary Frazier in Strikeforce. Cormier talks about his kinship with fellow wrestling convert "King Mo" Muhammed Lawal, his training at AKA, mani-pedis and more.
The show is available for download here.
