Benavidez vs. Medina Sets PBC on FS1 Ratings Record
While hardcore boxing fans knew going in that this past Saturday’s
super middleweight showdown between David Benavidez and Rogelio
Median was going to be a good one, it’s unclear as to whether
anyone involved knew the card would break ratings records.
The action on Saturday’s PBC on FS1 broadcast wound up setting a record as the most-viewed PBC event in the cable network’s history.
The exciting brawl, which saw Benavidez knock “Porky” out in the eighth, averaged 364,000 viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The FS1 audience peaked between 10-10:15 p.m. ET with 580,000 viewers. That spike in eyeballs on the boxing action came during Jorge Lara’s third-round destruction of Mario Briones.
